CG Goodies Ahead For Lightwave Users
When I heard the news about Lightwave 11, I couldn’t believe it.
I passed on v10 but v11 was a must have. Needless to say I have my v11 upgrade and like a McD’s commercial… “I’m Lovin’ It!” (I’ll be posting my thoughts regarding Lightwave 11 in an upcoming post–PROMISE!)
So, as I am enjoying cg splendor with my latest and greatest software upgrade, Newtek makes another announcement at SIGGRAPH 2012 of an upcoming delicious .5 upgrade due out later this year. Folks, Lightwave 11.5 is on the horizon! And it looks like a promising upgrade.
Newtek has made a lot of enhancements to existing tools and added some new treats that are sure to please. There’s a lot of hype about the new character rigging system, Genoma, but I personally would like to get my hands on Lightwave’s upcoming UV mapping tools and ABF system. Looks clean, fast and easy. (Check out “Heat Shrink”while you’re at it… wicked!)
Newtek has really stepped up their game and focus with their recent upgrade cycles and it appears they have finally shed the “Core” monkey off of their backs with v11.5. Great job guys, your products are truly inspiring. No doubt that Rob Powers’ role at Newtek has created a new sense of vitality for the entire Lightwave team and user base. Kudos to Rob and his recent promotion as President of the newly formed division “Lightwave Group” at Newtek. Cheers and I CANNOT WAIT!!!
