ICON 7, RISD and Rhode Island Make For A Triple Delight

I love “two-fers”. You know, the two birds and one stone thingy.
Like… when I have to go to the local pharmacy and the post office is right there. Not only can I get my drugs but I can also drop off the mail. Or… I take a business trip into the city and then meet some friends for dinner. Love when that happens. The best “two-fer” is the completely unexpected one. Like going on a blind date and finding out, not only is she an artist… but she’s a total computer geek too!!! 🙂

So, we get it now. “Two-fers” are awesome.

But when the rare “Three-fer” comes along (just apply the two-fer principle and change it to three)… I lose my mind! It’s orgasmic–transcendental, just like this year’s Illustration Conference. ICON 7, Rhode Island School of Design, and Providence, RI. The perfect trifecta.

This is my fist ICON ever, and the experience was tremendous. Everyone in the business of illustration should attend this conference. I met dozens of cool people, attended awesome workshops and got to hang out in Providence, RI (very cool little city by the way). Let’s not forget, I had the opportunity to spend time on the RISD campus and visit RISD’s art museum. That alone is worth the price of admission.

Like watching a spiritual celestial event unfold every two years, ICON promises to always bring three great things under one roof. A great conference, great people, and great location… always the perfect “three-fer”.
